When the big names of football join the cause

Last May, more than 200 prestigious clubs massively shared notices of disappearance on social networks. A look back at an unprecedented operation.

Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona: the world's top football teams were mobilized on social networks on May 25th, the International Missing Children's Day.

The "Football Cares" operation, set up by ICMEC and AS Roma, brought together more than 200 major clubs around the cause of missing children. Three Swiss teams also took part: FC Basel, FC Zurich and the Young Boys.

In front of an audience of nearly 400 million followers, these clubs massively shared videos compiling reports of missing children from 21 different countries.

Users were able to discover the stories of 101 missing minors. And the operation was a great success because each video was viewed several hundred thousand times.

We are extremely grateful to all these clubs, especially AS Roma with whom we have been collaborating for several months. Last year, they already took part in the publication of the missing report of Enzo and Denisa, two children kidnapped from their father in Valais.

We were also able to count on their help last February to share the updated photos of Alessia and Livia. And recently, the club circulated the notice of disappearance of little Grace-Victoria, abducted by her mother at the beginning of the year.

We are very touched by this collaboration and look forward to such support in the future.
